Pastor Dennis Thompson

Thompson

I am Dennis L. Thompson and my wife is Sandra. We have three children and nine grandchildren. I was graduated from high school in Wyoming and attended college in Wyoming and Washington. Prior to entering pastoral ministry, I served as a helicopter pilot in the US Army in Southeast Asia, worked in an engineering section for Boeing, and managed a remodeling business named Wooden-U-Know. In addition to pastoral ministry at OGBC, I serve as a chaplain at St. Joseph Medical Center and as a chaplain in the Civil Air Patrol. I am also approved as a domestic mediator by the State of Kansas. In my leisure time, Sandra and I like outdoor activities, such as fishing, camping, and hiking. We also enjoy traveling together.

Serving as one of the associate pastors of OGBC is a privilege and a blessing. I bring to this ministry twenty years of pastoral experience at Calvary Baptist Church in rural Kansas. My responsibilities at OGBC include counseling, discipleship, teacher development, and the child protection ministry. Philippians 1:6 is one of primary passages that guide my ministry. “. . . being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” I claim this promise for me and for those to whom I minister at OGBC.
